Pharmaceutical Education

Introduction

We aim to achieve a passing rate of 100% for the national exam for pharmacists and to generate evidence to enhance pharmaceutical education.

It is one of the most important goals for students to get a license as a pharmacist in the 6-year program. The Department of Pharmaceutical Education and Research was established in 2000. Our main goal is to support our students and enable them to achieve passing scores on the national exam for pharmacists as much as possible.

Recently, more practical abilities are required in the national exam for pharmacists because pharmacists should be important players in the medical field in terms of providing medication guidance for patients and medical security. We flexibly respond to the change in the circumstance surrounding pharmacists. We perform analysis of the results of the exam for pharmacists, collecting data of each section in the exam, considering curriculums, and delivering lectures to students on pharmaceutical common achievement tests and national examinations for pharmacists. Moreover, we also perform individualized instruction and consultation for students.

We present several special lectures for the national exam for pharmacists. Second-year students take special lectures on basic natural sciences, including physics, chemistry, and biology. Fourth-year students take lectures preparing for pharmaceutical common achievement tests. Fifth-year or higher students have the opportunity to take a practice exam for the national exam. Sixth-year students take lectures on practice-based comprehensive education of pharmaceutical science. We also contribute to the improvement of pharmaceutical education by researching educational methods and conducting evaluations.
