Hoshi University Basic Policy on the Protection of Personal Information

 Hoshi University recognizes the importance of protecting personal information and considers it a significant societal responsibility to ensure its appropriate management. We will comply with relevant laws and regulations concerning personal information and strive to protect personal information in accordance with the following privacy policy based on the “Hoshi University Regulations on the Protection of Personal Information.”

1. Compliance with Laws and Regulations Regarding the Handling of Personal Information

 The corporation and the university shall comply with the following relevant laws and regulations regarding the personal information of individuals involved in their business, including students and their families, graduates, applicants for admission, guarantors, directors, faculty members, and other staff.

2. Appropriate Collection and Use of Personal Information

 When collecting personal information, the University will clearly state the purpose of use, collect information within the necessary scope, and utilize the information within the defined purposes stipulated separately by the University.

3. Management of Personal Information

 To ensure the accuracy and safety of personal information,  the University will take necessary and appropriate security control measures. In cases where personal information is entrusted to a third party for use, the University shall consider the appropriateness of such outsourcing in light of the security control measures implemented by the third party. Additionally, confidentiality agreements will be concluded with the third party, and appropriate supervision will be carried out to ensure proper oversight of the entrusted information.

4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

 Personal information collected will not be provided or disclosed to third parties except in the following cases.

 When we receive a request from an individual to disclose, correct, or discontinue the use of collected personal information, we will promptly respond to such request to the extent reasonable.

6. Security Control Measures and Protection System for Personal Information

In order to prevent unauthorized access to personal information, as well as the loss, destruction, alteration, corruption, or leakage of personal information, the University shall take necessary preventive and corrective measures and manage personal information appropriately.
 In addition, to ensure the proper protection and management of personal information, we have established a personal information protection committee in the corporation, appointed administrators and responsible individuals in each department, and established a personal information protection system with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
